Hey, Stranger

Hello Friends! I hope all of you are doing well. I'm excited about so many things right now, I don't know where to begin! First, I cut off all of my hair. I'm actually just starting to like it. I was almost in tears when I looked at it for the first time. It was waaaay shorter than I expected/wanted. I will admit, it's so much easier. Although, I do miss my ability to rock a ponytail :)

My birthday is coming up in a week, the big 3-0! To celebrate my Granny took me to see The Color Purple, with Fantasia Barrino, at the Kennedy Center. We had dinner before the show at the Kennedy Rooftop Restaurant. Talk about some fabulous crab cakes, and peach cobbler! The show was AMAZING! It was so upbeat and funny, and had great music. If the show tours near your city I definitely suggest you go. It will be in DC until August 9 (my birthday :)) and I think the next stop is New York. Here we are before the show!

Now, to today's outfit. These shoes are surprisingly comfortable. I thought for sure my feet would be killing me by lunch, but I made it until 5. Yay! My kind of shoe :) Here's a close up.

My True Love...Red Pumps

If you've followed my blog even for a couple of weeks, you will realize that I wear red shoes A LOT! There is just something striking about a pair of red shoes. Maybe they just make me feel..Ooh La La/Sexy! I read up on the color red and found out, red suggests confidence and even a dash of danger. I'm definitely much more confident than I was five years ago, thanks to my husband and Danger is my middle name :O) If I could wear red shoes everyday, I would.

Because I tried to be fancy schmancy and use the enhance option in iPhoto, I kind of ruined todays picture. Ah, well. It'll do.

Have a fabulous fashionable weekend!

This Miner Struck Gold!

A few months ago I was in search for the perfect plain fitted black dress. I searched ever store imaginable and everything I found didn't fit as I wanted, cost way too much or was just ugly.

A couple of weeks ago, I took a third and final trip to the thrift store. I guess the third time really is a charm. I was almost finished looking through the black dress section and I was losing hope quickly. I thought I was going to die when I saw this dress! It was exactly what I was looking for. I was going to buy it regardless of what the size was because the tag that was still attached said it belonged in a two piece set (I guess the blazer was floating around the store somewhere) and the
Suggested Retail was $320. What? With it being 1/2 price Monday at the thrift store that meant the dress would be $5! The icing on the cake was it was my size and fit like a glove! Now, who in the heck would pass up that deal?

Dress: Atelier (Thrifted) - $5
Wrinkle Resistant Striped Shirt: LL Bean (Thrifted) - $4
Belt: New York & Company - $16
Shoes: Isaac Mizrahi - < $20

Estimated Cost: $45
